As the Talent Manager you will lead and develop Meanwhile’s dynamic music program alongside Taproom Leadership with a focus on creativity, growth, networking, and ideation. This position involves booking weekly free shows that allow local musicians to thrive and be celebrated, coordinating ticketed shows that garner excitement and attention and best utilize national and regional artists further bolstering programming, and spearheading successful marketing efforts. The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about diverse music genres, entrenched in the music space and well connected with venues and artists, has proven experience and is self-motivated to grow the program and build relationships, excels in organization and attention to detail, delivers outstanding guest service, and inspired to elevate an already well-established music program.

  • Oversees and executes all music programming, securing artists locally, regionally, and nationally whether residing in Texas or touring.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for artists, agents, and managers—advancing shows, negotiating contracts, and ensuring seamless execution.
  • Manages talent acquisition budgets, show settlements, and financial reporting, ensuring cost-effective and high-impact bookings.
  • Works closely with marketing and PR teams to develop promotion strategies for free and ticketed events, including digital, grassroots, and partnership marketing.
  • Aligns the programming calendar with taproom operations, sports schedules, and large-scale events to optimize guest experience.
  • Oversees stage-related purchases and rentals, working with production teams to manage sound, backline, and venue capabilities.
  • Maintains strong industry relationships with agents, managers, and venues to foster long-term partnerships and curate a diverse, high-quality lineup.
  • Analyzes audience trends, attendance data, and sales impact to strategically book talent that maximizes revenue and brand engagement.
  • Provides onsite support for live events, working with FOH staff, production teams, and security to ensure smooth operations.
  • Fosters the development of good relations with other venues in Central Texas.
  • Is well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
  • Performs excellent guest services when onsite for events and programming and supports all departments when required with the capacity to provide support and manage personnel in the Taproom when needed or during off-season.
REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
  • Required 2+ years' experience in the live music space with a proven track record of negotiating deals, contracts, advancing shows, building rapport with artists, managers and agencies.
  • Previous experience in a talent buying role for a medium to large venue with historic profitability success and brand building through talent acquisition of local, regional, and national acts.
  • Flexible schedule with availability 5 days a week prioritizing live music schedule to ensure shows success and potential rebooking.
  • Integrates into the taproom and provides routine to occasional management oversight with the full understanding of our goals, values and objectives.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive), Web-based tools such as Webflow for website updates and content management, Band software and artist management platforms (Pollstar), Ticketing software (e.g., Eventbrite, See Tickets, Prekindle, etc) & Adobe Illustrator a plus, but not required.
